Welcome to the Aberdeen Geological Society website. Here you will find details of our lecture program which runs from October through May, and our field trip program which runs through the summer months. Abstracts for the talks are available to download, and we have a gallery slowly building up of photos of our intrepid members on some of the field trips. You can register for membership online and check out some of the other geologically interesting sites on the links page.

It was overwhelmingly decided at this year’s AGM to increase the annual subscription fee (for the first time in at least 15 years!). We request that you amend your standing orders to reflect this.

The new annual subscription fees are as follows:

Ordinary members: £20
Concessions and Students: £10

We are very pleased to announce that another field excursions from the Aberdeen Guide has been made available for download. This time we can offer you “Barrow’s Zones in Glen Esk” by Ben Harte. A great deal of hard work has gone into checking and updating these guides, and we are very grateful to our intrepid volunteers who have been fearlessly treading the highways and byways of the excursions making sure everything is still visible as described in the original version of the guide, and that access is still available. Two excursions are available to download free of charge, but the remainder are for fully paid-up members only. To gain access to the protected content please contact a committee member for a password. All our Aberdeen Field Excursions can be found on the Field Guides Page.
