Don graduated in Electronics from the University of Edinburgh in 1972 and had the opportunity to pursue his passion of geology when he semi-retired from the subsea technology industry in 1996. He was encouraged to study a geology degree, as a (very!) mature student, and graduated from Aberdeen with honours in 2003. Don became Secretary to AGS for four years, during which time he worked hard to revitalise the organisation. He remains committed to sustaining AGS by broadening its reach to both professional and amateur geologists. Don is particularly interested in Scottish Dalradian Geology.
