Ken is an honours graduate of Edinburgh University in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He worked in the Subsea Construction industry and was a chartered engineer and registered Subsea Engineer, before retiring in 2015. He became interested in geology following a cruise around the inner and outer Hebridean islands. His main area of interest is Scottish volcanoes.
