A New Look at LORS of the Midland Valley

The talk will examine where LORS sediment came from, how far it travelled, how it was deposited and the influence of contemporaneous volcanism. It will also show evidence that the Highland Boundary Fault had no influence on sedimentation during LORS deposition.

Adrian is Professor of Sedimentology and Stratigraphy at the University of Aberdeen. He was first introduced to Old Red Sandstone by the late Nigel Trewin.
