Ballater Glacial Geomorphology

This a Friday evening field trip looking at the glacial geomorphology around Ballater. The excursion will be led by Stuart Archer and will look at 4 particular locations:

• Parkins Moss Esker
• Pass of Ballater delta
• Glascorrie Viewpoint
• Bellamore Depositional Suite

If you wish to attend, please contact our Excursions Secretary, Rosemary Feilden, by email (excursions@aberdeengeolsoc.org.uk) There may be a limit to the places available. We also respectfully ask all attendees to download and read the Pre-excursion Awareness Checklist which covers important points for individual and group safety so that we achieve an incident-free excursion.

We will meet at the small car park in the centre of Dinnet. Please arrive in good time. We will leave Dinnet by car at 6:00pm promptly.

Also, Stuart and Alex have kindly offered to welcome participants back to their house, Dinnet Cottage, for  a “soiree” / some light refreshment at the end of this field trip.
