Field Trip – Fife Coast

Saturday 1st June 10am start – Day trip to Fife – Coastal excursion – Lower Carboniferous – Kinghorn to Kirkcaldy – Trip led by Sam Mcauliffe.

Next week’s field trip will be a day trip to Fife. The meet up time is 10am at the car park detailed below. Parking is limited so you may need to park your car a short distance away. As this trip is a long way from Aberdeen, please car share where possible. The main purpose of the trip is to look at the various lower carboniferous exposures between Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy. Local Fife expert Sam Mcauliffe will lead the trip and will bring a number of fossils along, including shark teeth!

Meeting point is the car park at postcode KY3 9ST, right next to Kinghorn Garages. If you plan to attend the trip please bring a packed lunch. As the trip will be along the coast and coastal paths please make sure you wear suitable footwear and clothing. We will finish up between about 3-4pm.
